in Singapore, it’s important that you know at least three different programming languages. Here are 7 programming languages every Singaporean should learn.

Consequently, the skills gap in Singapore is substantial. The unemployment rate in 2017 was 4.7%, according to the Ministry of Manpower. The figure is considerably higher in low-income jobs, so IT and engineering is the only way to increase your salary.

As a result, there’s a clear need for people to learn new skills and update their knowledge, which is exactly what the government of Singapore is trying to do through initiatives such as MOOCs (massive open online courses).

MOOCs are massive open online courses, and they’re designed to bring free, high-quality education to anyone with an internet connection.

So far, Singapore has had mixed results with MOOCs. The first was the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation’s (GIC) MOOC on entrepreneurship.

A total of 30,000 students enrolled and completed the course.

The second was a MOOC on cybersecurity.

But the biggest success has been a MOOC that focuses on programming.

Over 9,000 students have enrolled in the first edition of Programming for Beginners, and the course is taught by a team of developers, software engineers, and designers who have years of experience in the field.

Students don’t need prior knowledge of programming, and it’s an introduction to the basics of computer science, which are applied to coding.

The program includes a number of practical projects and quizzes to ensure that students learn the concepts and techniques in a practical, hands-on manner.

2. Java: Versatile and Powerful

Java is most commonly used in Singapore due to the ubiquity of Java technology. As of 2017, about 80% of the world’s web server applications are written in Java.

Java was developed by Sun Microsystems and was initially released in 1995. Java allows developers to write applications that are cross-platform, platform-independent, and have access to the operating system APIs (application programming interface).
