Course Perspective

Just finished the ‘Application Development using Microservices and Serverless’ course, and wow, it’s like discovering a new lens to look through. I’ve been in the digital marketing and programming game for a while, but this course really upped the ante.

Firstly, the fundamentals of Microservices were a complete eye-opener. This approach has so many advantages over the traditional monolithic architectures that I’ve worked with. It’s modular, scalable, and way easier to manage. The course delved deep into the contrasts, and I can’t wait to implement this knowledge in my upcoming projects.

The hands-on experience with Docker containers and IBM Code Engine was super rewarding. Creating and deploying microservices like this is a breeze, and it’s going to save so much time and effort in the long run. Serverless technologies are the future, and it’s high time I got on board.

Creating REST API endpoints was another highlight. Using tools like cURL and Postman to invoke them, and SwaggerUI for documentation and testing, has given me a comprehensive toolkit for application development. Seriously, these are skills any programmer would kill to have.

The best part? The hands-on labs and projects. Nothing beats the practical application of knowledge, and the course offered a cloud-based environment to mess around in at no extra charge. For a hands-on guy like me, this was the icing on the cake.

Life’s not all about the money or the business, especially when you’ve got a family and a kid to think about. I’ve been living in Malaysia and Singapore for years, and it’s always been my goal to share knowledge and help others. This course has armed me with the skills to do just that but on a whole new level.

So, what’s next? I’m going to put these new skills to the test, especially in my digital marketing projects. And you can bet I’ll be sharing what I’ve learned with others. After all, what’s the point of all this knowledge if you’re not going to use it to make a difference, right?
