Course Perspective

Just wrapped up the ‘Becoming Part of the Globalised Workplace’ course, and it’s a game-changer. For someone like me, who’s always been hands-on and a bit skeptical of traditional educational paths, this course was like finding a hidden treasure.

Why so? It dives deep into the complexities of the modern workplace, covering everything from motivation and culture to persuasive communication. For someone rooted in digital marketing and programming, this is gold.

Let’s talk about motivation and culture first. This part of the course made me realize that understanding what drives people, especially in different cultural settings, is key to effective communication. I’ve always believed that knowing what people need is more valuable than just chasing after money, and this course reinforced that.

Then there’s the focus on presentation skills—using visual aids, controlling your voice, and mastering body language. It’s like adding a new set of tools to my kit, especially useful since I’m all about sharing knowledge. Plus, the part about being culturally sensitive? That’s a big win, especially given my love for Malaysia and Singapore.

Now, onto negotiation skills. The course gets into the nitty-gritty of workplace dialogues and how to navigate them. This stuff is like the cheat codes to making workplace interactions smoother and more effective.

Last but not least, the course tackles how to present to critical stakeholders and delegate tasks to team members. This is where it all comes together—how to lead, how to share your vision, and how to get things done.

I’m at a point in my life where I’m more focused on giving back. I’ve got family, I’ve got a kid, and I’ve got loads of experience in digital marketing and programming. This course? It’s just fuel for the fire, empowering me to make a bigger impact.

So, what’s next on the agenda? More sharing, more teaching, more helping. Whether it’s in the digital world or the real one, this course has equipped me to do it better. The clock’s ticking, and there’s a lot to do. Time to put these new skills to work.
