Course Perspective
Just finished the Google Fundamentals of Digital Marketing course, and I’ve got to say, it’s been an eye-opener. Now, I’m not one to hop into a course without first messing around with the subject matter on my own. Certificates? Nice to have, but not the be-all and end-all. I’ve always thought they’re mainly for making the average person think you’re some sort of genius, but any pro in IT knows what’s up.
This course caught my eye because it’s loaded with stuff that not everyone gets, and that’s like catnip to me. I’m all about sharing whatever I know, whether it’s digital marketing, programming, or even stuff like badminton and wine recommendations. And this course gave me even more to share.
I’ve been in Malaysia and Singapore for years, and I’m all in on these places. It’s not just about making a quick buck for me; I genuinely want to help people out. As I get older and now that I’ve got a family and a little one to think about, that desire to share and help has only grown.
So, what was the course about?
- Online Opportunity & First Steps: The course kicks off with helping you understand the vast landscape of online marketing. It sets the stage for everything else, helping you nail down a strategy for online success.
- Building Web Presence: This was about more than just having a website. It’s about making your online home inviting and functional, a place people would want to visit and hang around.
- Search Fundamentals: This segment was packed. We went from basic search strategies to advanced stuff like optimizing search campaigns and local search. For anyone in digital marketing, mastering search is non-negotiable.
- Social Media and Local Discovery: Here we learned how to be the local hero. How to get noticed in your immediate geographic area and how to leverage social media for maximum impact.
- The Mobile Universe: We dived into how to make mobile platforms work for you, from responsive design to mobile advertising strategies.
- Content Marketing: Last but not least, the course touched on how to kickstart your content marketing, which is basically the backbone of any good digital marketing strategy.
In short, the Google Fundamentals of Digital Marketing course was a win. I can’t wait to use what I’ve picked up to help even more people. Life’s too short to keep useful stuff to yourself, right?
