Course Perspective

So, I’ve just wrapped up the IBM Full Stack IBM Data Science course, and if you knew me, you’d know how I usually roll. Certificates? To me, they’re just paper. That’s why I dive deep and get my hands dirty before I even think about attending any certification courses. This one, though, got my attention. It’s so intricate that I doubt most people would fully grasp it, which only piqued my curiosity more.

Look, digital marketing and programming have been my playgrounds for years. But blending in Data Science? That’s like adding rocket fuel to my skill set. Now I not only know what data science is, but I also understand the daily grind of a data scientist. It’s not just about crunching numbers; it’s a whole methodology that changes how you approach problems.

Being a hands on guy, I loved the practical aspects of this course. Whether it’s importing and cleaning data sets or building machine learning models, I got to do it all. And let’s not forget Python—the Swiss Army knife for data scientists. With it, you can manipulate data, visualize it, and even create machine learning pipelines.

Now, why does this matter, especially in places like Malaysia and Singapore where I’ve been living for years? Because it’s not all about making a buck. It’s about understanding what people need and delivering that in the best way possible. With these new data science skills, I can do just that, but on a whole new level.

As I grow older and my family expands (yep, got a little one who’s the light of my life), my focus is shifting more towards helping others. Whether it’s digital marketing, programming, or even my hobbies like badminton and red wine, I’ve always been keen on sharing my knowledge. Now, with a skill set that includes data science, I can help people in even more meaningful ways.

So here’s the plan: I’m going to apply these new skills to a real world project, analyze the data, and publish a report for stakeholders. That way, I can show not just what I’ve learned, but also how it can benefit everyone else.

In a nutshell, this course didn’t just expand my technical skills; it redefined my purpose. And trust me, I’m all in.
