Course Perspective

Just wrapped up the Introduction to Git and GitHub course, and I’ve got to say, it hit all the right notes for me. I’ve been in the digital marketing and programming game for a while, and I’ve always been the type to dive in and get my hands dirty before sitting in a classroom. And let’s be real, I’m not in it for the paper certificate; I’m in it for the knowledge.

So, what’s the big deal about Git and GitHub? Well, if you’re in the world of coding, version control is like your safety net. It’s the backup you wish you had when you accidentally delete an important file. Learning why version control is essential was like a breath of fresh air. It’s one of those things you might overlook, but once you get it, you wonder how you ever lived without it.

Using GitHub: GitHub is the go-to platform for open-source projects, and the course went deep into how to navigate and use it. Now, I can not only store projects but also collaborate with others. This is a big win, especially for team projects in digital marketing where multiple versions of a campaign might be in play.

Installing and Running Git: This was pretty straightforward but essential. The course walked through how to get Git up and running on my local machine. Given that I’m already familiar with programming, this part was a breeze.

Collaborating through Remote Repositories: This was the cherry on top. Learning how to collaborate with others in a remote repository is a game-changer. Think Google Docs but for code. This will come in handy not just for programming gigs but also for coordinating larger digital marketing campaigns.

So, why did I take this course, you might ask? Well, it aligns perfectly with my work in digital marketing and programming. Version control and collaboration are key in any project, and this tool nails both. Plus, you know me—I can’t keep good stuff to myself. Sharing is caring, whether it’s here in Malaysia and Singapore or anywhere else.

I’ve got a family to look after and a community to support, so I’m all about making the most of my time and skills. This course? Definitely time well spent. Now, I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned and help others along the way.
