Course Perspective

Just finished the Leading Teams course, and wow, it was an eye-opener. I’m usually the guy who’s deep into digital marketing and coding, but this course was something else.

Team Building: First up, we tackled how to build a team from the ground up. It’s not just about picking people with the right skills; it’s also about getting a mix of personalities that can work together. Never really thought about that before, but it makes sense.

Conflict Resolution: Trust me, in my years in digital marketing, I’ve seen my share of conflicts. This course gave me some real tools to handle these situations without just hoping for the best.

Roles and Structures: We looked at how to establish roles within the team and set up structures to keep things running smoothly. It sounds boring, but it’s the kind of thing that can make or break a team.

High-Performance Teams: Now, this is what got me. How do you take a team from “just doing okay” to “knocking it out of the park”? And how do you keep that going? The course gave me a lot of insights into sustaining high performance over the long haul.

Why did I even take this course? Well, here’s the thing: I love sharing what I know. Whether it’s in Malaysia, Singapore, or anywhere else, I want to make an impact. Being an effective team leader will let me do that in a big way. Plus, it’s not just about the workplace. I’ve got a family, including a little one, and being able to lead and manage a team effectively translates into so many aspects of life.

So yeah, I’m pretty pumped to put all these new skills to use. Not just in my job, but in everything I do. Whether I’m coaching badminton, sharing a glass of red wine, or just trying to navigate life, these team leadership skills are going to be gold.
