Course Perspective

Just finished the course on “Share Data Through the Art of Visualization,” and I’ve got to say, it was eye-opening. Even though I usually dig deep into any subject before taking a course, this one had me hooked from the get-go.

Cybersecurity Practices: The course started with the topic of cybersecurity and its importance. Let’s be real; it doesn’t matter how good your data visualizations are if they’re not secure. The course got me thinking differently about how to protect data, especially when sharing it in visual formats.

SIEM Tools: Next up, we dove into Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools. These tools help keep networks and data safe from unauthorized access, a must-know for anyone dealing with data, not just us tech-savvy folks.

Risks, Threats, and Vulnerabilities: We went over the kinds of things that can go wrong, from cyberattacks to human error, and how to mitigate these risks. Knowing what could go wrong is half the battle, right?

Hands-On Tech Skills: As a fan of getting my hands dirty, this was the part I loved the most. We got to play around with Python, Linux, and SQL to create secure data visualizations. The course went beyond theory and into practical skills, which, to me, is where the real learning happens.

I can’t wait to put all this knowledge to good use. Not just in my digital marketing work but in sharing it with others. I’m all about that life—helping others learn, especially here in Malaysia and Singapore where I’ve lived for years. Got a family to think about and a lot of life to live, and I’m convinced that sharing knowledge is the way to make the most of it. So if you’re down to talk about data visualization, cybersecurity, or whatever else I’ve picked up, just give me a shout.
