Course Perspective

Just finished up the “System Administration and IT Infrastructure Services” course, and man, was it an eye-opener! Look, I’m the guy who usually learns stuff on his own, gets into the nitty-gritty before even considering a formal course. Certificates? Not my jam. But this course? Worth every second.

The Basics: First off, we dove into what system administration is really about. Things like organizational policies, IT services, routine maintenance—you name it. It’s not just about resetting passwords; it’s about keeping the whole system running smoothly.

Network and Infrastructure Services: Ever wonder how server operating systems work? How about DNS for web services? Yeah, we covered that. It’s all about making sure everything communicates the way it’s supposed to. Trust me, it’s the backbone of any good IT setup.

IT Services Management: This part was gold. How do you manage IT services to keep a business running like a well-oiled machine? That’s what we learned. Security, application delivery, you get the idea.

Active Directory and OpenLDAP: This was the cherry on top. Centralized management is a lifesaver for SysAdmins. Adding users, setting passwords, managing group policies—this course covered how to do it all in both Active Directory and OpenLDAP.

So, what’s next? Well, sharing knowledge is my thing. I’ve been around the block, especially in digital marketing and programming, and now with this new set of skills, there’s even more I can offer. In Malaysia and Singapore, where I’ve spent years, I want to contribute more, help people up their game. Life’s too short to keep all this to myself. Got a family to look out for, and I want to show my little one that sharing is caring. If you’re keen to learn, I’m here to help. Let’s get to it!
