Course Perspective

Just finished “The Art of Negotiation” course, and let me tell you, it’s not your typical sit-and-listen kind of class. Like always, I got my hands dirty before stepping into this course. I’ve always thought that certificates were more for show, so my real goal was to gain practical skills. And man, did I get what I came for.

Negotiation vs Selling: First off, this course made it super clear that negotiation isn’t just glorified selling. It’s a whole different ball game with its own rules and strategies.

Traits of a Good Negotiator: The course didn’t just throw theory at us; it dissected the kind of characteristics that make a negotiator effective. You’ve got to be more than just a smooth talker, and that was a big takeaway.

Styles, Styles, Styles: Forget one-size-fits-all; negotiation has different styles. Learning about them was like opening up a toolbox I didn’t know I had.

Personal Style Assessment: This was the cherry on top. We got to assess our own negotiation style and see how it plays into different scenarios. Self-awareness, anyone?

So, what’s next? Well, I’m gonna do what I always do—share what I’ve learned. Whether you’re in digital marketing like me, programming, or even into badminton and red wine, these negotiation skills can be a game-changer.

I’ve lived in Malaysia and Singapore for years, and I’ve got a soft spot for these places. With time flying by (yeah, I’m not getting any younger), my main goal is to share as much free knowledge as I can. Why waste time on petty cash when there’s so much more to do, especially when you’ve got a family and little ones?

So, if you’re up for learning, I’m here to share. Let’s make life richer, not just in terms of money but in knowledge and experiences. Cheers!
