Course Perspective

Just finished “The Data Scientist’s Toolbox,” and man, was it a ride! You know me—I like to get my hands dirty before diving into any course. Certificates? Who needs ’em? I’m after the real skills, the kind you can apply right away.

Setting Up the Tools: First up was getting the basics sorted. R, R-Studio, and Github. Setting them up wasn’t just click-and-go; it was more like setting the stage for a killer performance. These tools are the bread and butter of any data scientist, and now I get why.

Study Design Concepts: This part got my brain gears turning. Designing a study isn’t just about throwing data into a model; it’s about knowing what you’re looking for. It’s like fishing—you gotta know what bait to use if you want to catch the right fish.

Data and Tools: Ever looked at raw data and felt like you’re reading an alien language? Well, this course decoded that language. We went through the kinds of problems that data analysts face every day, and let me tell you, it’s not always a walk in the park.

Github Repository: And then there’s Github. This isn’t just a place to stash your code; it’s like your portfolio, your calling card. Creating a repository is basically saying, “Hey world, check out what I can do!”

So what’s next? Sharing, of course. I can’t wait to blend this new knowledge with my main gigs in digital marketing and programming. This isn’t just about making a quick buck; it’s about enriching the community. I’ve been around in Malaysia and Singapore for a long time, and I’ve got more to give.

Life’s too short to keep all this to myself, especially when I’ve got a family and a kiddo to inspire. So if you’re keen to learn, I’m keen to share. Let’s crack this data science thing wide open, shall we?
