Course Perspective

Just wrapped up the course on Developing Cloud Apps with Node.js and React, and wow, it’s been an eye-opener. You see, I’ve always been the type to get my hands dirty with the material before even stepping into a course. Certificates? Eh, they’re more for show. But this course? It’s something else.

Node.js and React are like the dynamic duo of web development. We kicked things off with creating server-side applications using the Node.js JavaScript framework. It’s not every day you get to dive so deep into server-side tech.

Then came deployment. Putting our web apps on IBM’s Cloud platform was straightforward but crucial. It’s one thing to build an app, but deploying it? That’s where the rubber meets the road.

We didn’t stop there. We extended our Node.js applications using the Express back-end web application framework. Express makes Node.js even better, allowing for more advanced features and functionalities.

But what’s a great back-end without an equally awesome front-end, right? That’s where React came into play. We developed front-end web interfaces using React.jsx and ES6. By the end, we had full-fledged web applications, ready for the cloud and developed using cutting-edge technologies.

Being in digital marketing and programming, this course is a goldmine. Knowing how to create and deploy cloud apps can really set you apart, especially when you understand what people actually need. That’s vital here in Malaysia and Singapore, where I’ve been living for years.

Life’s too short to keep this stuff to myself. I’ve got a family and a kid who remind me every day what’s important. So, expect me to share what I’ve learned, whether it’s this tech stuff, digital marketing, or even my hobbies. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about making a living; it’s about making a difference.
